Blue Lower Lash line Make up

I think this is a great way to use bright colours for a summery make up look without it looking too bold. It gives a nice hint of colour which I would feel brave enough to wear out on a warm summers evening or even during the day.

I used Barry M Kohl Pencil in 19 on my waterline and paired it with Bright bottom lashes to give a pretty turquiose 'pop' to this everyday look. The thing I love about cream eyeshadows is that you can apply them on your lashes over your mascara to give you coloured lashes, I did this with Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr eyeshadow in the shade Turquiose Forever.

Firstly I applied Rimmel Wake me up foundation with a Real Techniques expert face brush, I used Bourjois Bronzer to contour and Mac Warm soul Blush to give me a summery glow. I Highlighted using Topshop highlight in Sunbeam, and finished off with Rimmel stay matte powder.
I used my Clinique superfine brow liner to shape my brows and Mac Pigment in Melon as a wash of colour over my lids. I ran Collection Dazzle me in Magical under the lower lash line and in the inner corners of my eyes and I used Revlon Peach Parfait Lip Butter and Revlon Lipgloss in Peony on my lips.

Origins Night a Mins

I was given a small tester of Origins Night a mins and fell in love with it instantly. Even when the Origins sales assistant tested it on the back of my hand, I was so surprised at how soft it made my hand feel.
Origins Night a mins is quite fragranced which something that I normally tend to avoid, however as this contains no parabens or mineral oil, it doesn't react badly with my skin at all and even helps reduces any blemishes I have, helps to fade acne scarring and keeps my skin hydrated.
I picked up the oil free version to suit my skin type but there is also a richer version of this which would be good for dry skin.
I read reviews on Night A Mins online after I bought the full sized product as the tester worked so well for me. The reviews are mainly very positive however a few people seem to have experienced breakouts after using this so although I highly recommend this moisturiser, I would see if you can get a sample pot to test it out first. Origins tend to be really good with giving out samples, I got these two samples when I bought Night a Mins!
This has quickly become my staple night time moisturiser, my skin seems to love origins at the moment and I'm definitely looking for daytime moisturiser from them to put on my Wishlist!

Have you tried this?

May Bank Holiday Weekend

I haven't done a lifestyle post before, but I had such a lovely May Bank holiday weekend that I thought I would share some of the pictures with you!

Saturday started off as a dreary rainy day. Me and my boyfriend took a trip to Ikea to buy the Alex draws which I'm currently organising my ever expanding Make-up collection into. I picked up a few bits for the home too, I've wanted the Ofelia fluffy white blanket ever since I saw it on Mariannan's decor posts and the pretty plant/candle holders are perfect to store my Make-up brushes in. After queueing for too long for food in Ikea, we gave up waiting and walked to Asda which was near to buy some snacks to eat. I couldn't resist this Coke bottle, even though I don't really drink it! Me and Alex (My boyfriend not the draws!) ate Melon, Crisps and Pastries in the car and then picked up a Costa hot chocolate for the drive home.

Sunday was spent building furniture and making Belgium waffles. I had Golden syrup, cinnamon and a dusting of icing sugar on mine :)

Monday was a lovely, sunny day. We took a stroll along a river next to blossom filled tree's and fed the swans. I gave this little guy an extra big bit of bread to say thanks for the photo!

All in all one of my favourite long weekends.

Spring Nails

L-R Essie Peach Daiquiri, Barry M Grapefruit, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Topshop Windy City, Barry M Peach Melba, Topshop Prim and Proper

These are my current favourite Spring Nailvarnishes. I think they are a lovely mix of pretty pastels for spring and a few brights which will also be great for summer.

Barry M Gelly in Grapefruit and Essie Peach Daiquiri are actually quite similar, although Grapefruit is slightly on the pinker side. The Barry M Gelly formula is lovely, only 1 coat needed and it is very high shine, perfect for quick application and shiny nails!
I think my favourite of the bunch has to be Essie Mint candy apple, this is the perfect summer colour and I love the name, the packaging and the brush!

What are your favourite colours this spring?

April Glossybox 2013

Another great box from Glossybox this month. The box is so pretty, and there are some lovely products.

Full sized Essie Nail Varnish - I really wanted Essie Cute as a button but I just couldn't justify buying it as I had already bought the boujois dupe after seeing it on Lily's blog. I'm so glad that I now have the Essie version as this doesn't have the micro glitter particles that the bourjois one has and I love the Essie Nailvarnish Brushes.

Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink - I already have this blush and I love it. Its such a pretty colour and I'm glad to have double now as I will pop this in my Make up kit.

Nip & Fab Mango body butter - This smells gorgeous. I'm really picky about Body butters as I can't stand the greasy feeling from thick/deep moisturising body butters. This one is for Dry skin so it is very moisturising but it will be great for me to use in the winter for dry hands/elbows and knee's.

Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple - I love little perfume bottles, this is a floral woody smell, not something that I would normally go for but it's ok for an everyday scent.

Sun Sense Daily face - SPF50 - This will be good to try out in the summer.

What did you think of this months Glossybox?

Bourjois New Healthy Mix

I had mixed feelings when I heard that Bourjois were reformulating this foundation, it was already my favourite foundation for glowy, soft skin the way it was, but then on the other there were a couple of downsides to the original formula - it didn't last all day and it was very heavily scented which sometimes caused me breakouts. I was excited to see what Bourjois would change.

I bought the shade 54 which is the shade I wear in the winter, as it's summer soon I would have rather bought shade 55 but they didn't seem to stock it in my local boots.
I hate to say it but I preferred the original formula. I'm so glad I ended up with shade 54 as although its light in the tube, It seems to oxidise on me and become darker on my skin. It also doesn't sink as well into my skin or feel as moisturising. I applied it first with my real techniques stippling brush and then the next day with my real techniques expert face brush which seemed to work better. Don't get me wrong, its still a lovely foundation but personally, I preferred the original.

I also bought the blush after seeing it on Sandra's Blog as its a really good dupe for a lovely Chanel blush, I don't own a coral orange blush and I think this will look so pretty in the summer.

I've now bought so many new hyped highstreet foundations (Revlon nearly naked, New Bourjois healthy mix, Rimmel True match) which are all pretty good, but to be honest I'm wishing I saved my money and tried Nars Sheer Glow or YSL Touch Eclat Foundation which I've got a feeling that I will love!

Lesson learned I think, these all will be great for the summer and I will use them up but I think the next foundation I buy, will be from Nars or YSL.

Rimmel Apocalips

Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial, Nova and Big Bang.

I picked up these 3 shades after seeing them pretty much all over Twitter, Instagram and Beauty blogs. Rimmel Apocalips are a liquid lipstick, they are creamy, non sticky and amazingly pigmented.
The three colours I picked up were Celestial which is a really pretty every day colour, Nova which is a pretty Pink and Big Bang which is a stunning bold red which I know I will rarely ever brave, but It's such a lovely colour!

I had to prep my lips well first before using these as they really showed up any imperfections and dryness, first I used a lip scrub and then lip balm to make my lips smooth and soft for application. I tried a lip brush and the doe applicator for applying which both worked really well.

I really like these, they are £5.99 each but were on a 3 for 2 deal when I bought them from boots. I'm really loving Rimmel at the moment and I can't wait to see what they bring out next!
